Charleston Takes Championship Series Friday, October 18th , 2024 The Charleston Sea Dogs and Maine Pines held nothing back in an entertaining Championship Series that went the distance. In the end, it will be Charleston advancing to the World Series, after a 6-3 triumph in the final game at Ballpark of Charleston, to wrap up the series 4-3. The Sea Dogs players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Pines. Nelson Ziersch was named series MVP for Charleston. For the series, Ziersch hit .520 with a .613 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Charleston Sea Dogs will play against the Halifax Heathens in the next round. Halifax won their series against the Philadelphia Marauders 4 games to 2.
