Halifax Moves on to World Series Thursday, October 17th , 2024 The Halifax Heathens are off to the World Series. By a final score of 6-1 at Estadio Azteca, Halifax ended the Championship Series and knocked out the Philadelphia Marauders by a series score of 4-2. "Two great teams, only one can go on and we're happy that's us," said Josh Fitzgerald, who was named series MVP. "There's no easy games, no easy series in the American Baseball Association playoffs." For the series, Fitzgerald hit .455 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Halifax Heathens don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Charleston Sea Dogs - Maine Pines series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Championship Series finishes.
