Ward Is NC's Top Rookie Thursday, November 9th , 2023 The National Conference has presented its Rookie of the Year Award for 2023 and the honor went to Dusty Ward, the fine San Francisco second baseman. The 21-year-old Fire newcomer took the trophy by hitting .352 in 89 games and finished with 118 hits, 15 home runs, 43 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He received 3 first place votes out of a possible 5. Tom Klenke of the Hollywood Stars finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while John Salgado of the Oakland Invaders finished third.
