Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Baucke

Austin Desperados reliever Bob Baucke said he loves to come into the game when the outcome is in jeopardy.

He certainly did a good job of impacting his team's outcomes this season, as he has been named the winner of the 2023 Reliever of the Year Award for the American Conference.

"There's no better feeling than running in from the bullpen with the game on the line and your heart pumping," Baucke said.

On the season, the Cerritos, California native had 44 saves in 67 relief appearances, 85 strikeouts in 81.1 innings and a record of 4 wins and 7 losses to go with his 3.10 ERA.

He received 2 first place votes out of a possible 5. Chris Jacoby of the Philadelphia Marauders finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Blake Bryant of the Boston Whistlers finished third.
