Anderson Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Cincinnati
Friday, September 19th , 2025
It was the best of both worlds for the Cincinnati Royals at Eagles Stadium, as they defeated the Indianapolis Eagles, 7-1, and also snapped Jim Anderson's 20-game hitting streak. The 28-year-old Indianapolis left fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Anderson, we just wanted to win the game," said Royals skipper Justin Aaron. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Anderson frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
Anderson is hitting .276 this year with 21 home runs and 71 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .328, 45 walks and scored 94 times.
