Justin Buchanan Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Thursday, September 18th , 2025
The doctors have spoken and Justin Buchanan of the Austin Desperados didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Buchanan sustained his season-ending injury during the Dallas Dragons game yesterday at Tennant Healthcare Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Austin medical staff reported Buchanan had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.
For the season, Buchanan is 1-and-3 with no saves and a 5.51 ERA. He has given up 22 hits in 16.1 innings with 17 strikeouts.
