Scorpions Simpson Out Rest Of Season Monday, September 28th , 2026
The doctors have spoken and Matt Simpson of the Syracuse Scorpions didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Simpson sustained his season-ending injury during the Tampa Bay Captains game yesterday at Ahoy Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Syracuse medical staff reported Simpson had a torn labrum and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6 months.
On the year, Simpson has compiled a 0-2 mark with a 5.67 ERA.
