Injury Worsens, Return Delayed for Pines Calder Wednesday, September 23rd , 2026 Ben Calder's return to the Maine Pines has been delayed. The 24-year-old starting pitcher has been in treatment for high ankle sprain and was responding well until he suffered sharp pains during a light workout. Upon examination by team doctors they reported that there had been further damage and Calder will not be back as originally diagnosed. He will now be out at least one week.
This year, Calder has worked 60.2 innings with 38 strikeouts en route to a 1-4 record and a 3.26 ERA.
