Marauders Advance to World Series Wednesday, October 18th , 2023 The World Series hopes remain strong for the Philadelphia Marauders. The team tonight eliminated the Austin Desperados with a 4-3 win, to capture the Championship Series 4-1. "We're rolling now," said Carlos Barreto, who was named series MVP. "The pitchers are pitching, hitters are hitting, look out. I expect us to pick our game up to another level in the World Series." The standout offensive performance from Barreto included a .316 batting average, .350 on-base percentage, 3 home runs, 6 RBI and 5 runs scored. The Philadelphia Marauders will play against the Charleston Shiners in the next round. Charleston won their series against the Maine Pines 4 games to 1.
