Ziersch Scorches Pines for 3 HR Wednesday, October 18th , 2023 Nelson Ziersch was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 6-2 Charleston Shiners triumph at Hannaford Dome. The 21-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Shiners past the Maine Pines. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Ziersch told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The left fielder went 5-for-5, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Nelson Ziersch hit a solo-shot off Ryan Flamino in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ryan Flamino in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Dan Mills in the 8th and doubled in the 9th. So far this year in 151 games, Ziersch is hitting .294 with 26 home runs, 95 RBIs and 157 runs scored. |
