Manager MacNutt Axed by Tampa Bay Captains Thursday, December 9th , 2021 "I'm just a scapegoat," said Eddie MacNutt to reporters in the stadium parking lot after the Tampa Bay Captains announced his firing as manager early today. "You think I did a bad job? It's the players who couldn't hit, couldn't pitch, couldn't catch the damn ball. And you can print that," he added, as he stamped out a cigarette and stomped off. MacNutt's replacement wasn't immediately named, but a Tampa Bay official said an announcement could come as soon as tomorrow. |
