Salazar Grabs AC Reliever of the Year Award

As an impending free agent, Roberto Salazar is expecting his next contract to be a big one.
He certainly has a bargaining chip, as he was today named the winner of the 2021 American Conference Reliever of the Year Award.
The Austin Desperados closer had a 1.43 ERA this season over 75.2 innings of work. He made 67 relief appearances and had 45 saves, 53 strikeouts, 17 walks and a record of 2-5. Opponent batters hit only .215 against him.
"I'm looking forward to signing that next deal," he said.
He received 1 first place votes out of a possible 2. Devin Wickliffe of the Detroit Giants finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Jesus Howell of the Phoenix Gladiators finished third.
