Cabriales Hits 3 Homers Against Toronto
Tuesday, July 29th , 2025
It's a rare event when a player hits three homers in a game and rarer still when he does it and loses.

It happened at Trash Panda Field, as Ruben Cabriales of the Detroit Giants unloaded three times against the Toronto Trash Pandas but was still bumped off, 12-11, by the Trash Pandas.

"We were lucky to win today," said Toronto skipper Walt DeRosier. "You can't give up that many home runs and expect to win on a regular basis."

For the game, the Detroit first baseman had 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 times, and drove in 5.

Cabriales spoke to the writers in the postgame press room with mixed feelings, saying he was sad to lose but happy to be seeing the ball well.

"I was just trying to swing early and often to give myself a chance," he said. "I let the pitcher supply all the power and try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball."

Ruben Cabriales hit a solo-shot off Moises Cruz in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Moises Cruz in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Josh Flaten in the 4th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.

So far this season, Cabriales is hitting .265 with 21 home runs, 69 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 107 hits in 404 at-bats and a .317 OBP.
