Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Gladiators Ayala
Friday, November 20th , 2020
It was a glorious year for Felipe Ayala of the Phoenix Gladiators.

He finished the season with 18 victories and only 6 losses, with an impressive 2.42 ERA. The talented Gladiators pitcher started 33 games and struck out 273 batters in 204.1 innings and won the American Conference Cy Young Award.

"It means a lot," Ayala said. "I hadn't really had a chance to sit down and think about it yet. It feels good right now. I can't really put it into words, but I'm sure later on tonight when I have a chance to sit down with my family and think about it, I'll have some words for it. But right now, I'm just happy that it happened this year."

He received 4 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Rodney Caporn of the Detroit Giants finished second in voting, while Ben O'Halloran of the Tampa Bay Captains finished third.
