Royals Deal Walker to Captains for Wagner Wednesday, July 31st , 2024 The Cincinnati Royals and Tampa Bay Captains have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Cincinnati will part with 21-year old minor league 1B Tommy Walker, while the Captains have dealt 25-year old RHP Jayson Wagner. "This one took a while to figure out," said Cincinnati general manager Dave Wright. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." For the season, Wagner is 3-and-5 with 1 save and a 5.46 ERA. He has given up 51 hits in 28 innings with 22 strikeouts. |
