Wildcard Game Goes the Distance, Austin Prevails Saturday, October 10th , 2020 It was a rousing finish to the Wildcard Game at Gladiators Ballpark today. The Austin Desperados sent the Phoenix Gladiators home for the season with a 5-4 win in the decisive game of the series. The Desperados took the series 2-1. Up next on their schedule is the Divisional Series. Hauling in the MVP trophy was Austin center fielder John Austin. His numbers included a .417 batting average, 3 RBIs and 2 runs. "With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the Divisional Series," he said. The Austin Desperados will play against the Halifax Heathens in the next round.
