Heathens Advance to Championship Series Sunday, October 9th , 2022 The Halifax Heathens outclassed the Austin Desperados in all facets of the game throughout the AC Divisional Series. The end result was a Halifax series sweep to advance to the Championship Series, capped off by a 5-2 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said first baseman Josh Fitzgerald, who hit .429 in the series. Fitzgerald's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .500 on-base percentage and had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Halifax Heathens don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Boston Whistlers - Detroit Giants series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece.
