Espindola Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Tuesday, July 14th , 2026 Fernando Espindola, second baseman for the Detroit Giants, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 2 hits in his club's 6-3 victory over the Cincinnati Royals at The Castle. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Fernando Espindola grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year, Espindola is hitting .327 with 8 home runs and 40 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .352 clip and scored 50 runs. |
