Postseason Bid Ends for San Francisco Tuesday, September 20th , 2022 It's the better-luck-next-time point of the season for the San Francisco Fire. The club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today, and will turn their attention to next year's campaign. "You know, the average player doesn't get that many seasons, so every time you're eliminated, it hurts," said Fire starting pitcher Josh Shropshire. San Francisco last appeared in the postseason in 2020. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 17 times in their 23-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Fire have missed the playoffs 5 times. |
