Toronto Halts Hicks's Hitting Steak Tuesday, July 15th , 2025 It just wasn't Eric Hicks's day. The Maine Pines grabbed the 2-1 win over the Toronto Trash Pandas, but the Trash Pandas mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 23-game hitting streak of Pines third baseman Eric Hicks. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Hicks," Toronto manager Walt DeRosier commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Pines have other hitters and they did their job today." So far this season, Hicks is hitting .356 with 15 home runs. |
