Shiners Heading to Championship Series Monday, October 11th , 2021 The Charleston Shiners are riding high after winning the Divisional Series and eliminating the San Diego Fleet by a series score of 4-1. The final blow came tonight at Ballpark of Charleston, when Charleston secured its spot in the Championship Series with a 5-4 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said center fielder Nick Wisniewski, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Wisniewski certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .294 with a .333 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 3 home runs, drove in 10 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Charleston Shiners will play against the Cincinnati Royals in the next round. Cincinnati won their series against the Maine Pines 4 games to 0. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
