Hayes Goes Yard 3 Times Saturday, July 29th , 2023 Eric Hayes went on an explosive hitting spree against the Toronto Trash Pandas at Trash Panda Field, launching a trio of blasts to help the Cincinnati Royals win, 7-6. The left fielder finished 4-for-6 with 4 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Hayes said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Toronto skipper Mike Cervantes said Hayes was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Eric Hayes hit a solo-shot off Jim Murphy in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Murphy in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Tom Mott in the 10th. Thus far this season, Hayes has hit .276 with 25 home runs, 77 RBIs and scored 77 times. |
