Shiners Capture National Conference South Division Thursday, September 23rd , 2021 Let loose, Charleston fans, your team has won the National Conference South Division. The Charleston Shiners have officially captured the crown, the 5th in franchise history. "We've got a team that can do it all and we think do it just as well as anyone in the league," said starting pitcher Josh Riese. "I hope no one is taking us lightly once the playoffs start." Certainly the team's division crown will garner them a fair bit of respect, as the 87-69 record puts the club in position for the franchise's 1st American Baseball Association championship. "You never get tired of being in the playoffs," said manager Chad Hart. "This is what you play for." |
