Trouble in Vancouver, Coppa Suffers Setback
Saturday, July 15th , 2023
All is not well with Jason Coppa in his recovery from a sprained ankle.
The 23-year-old Mounties first baseman has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Coppa and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday.
"Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it."
A post-workout examination revealed that Coppa had re-injured himself and would now miss at least one week because of it.
This season in 94 games, Coppa is batting .302 with 13 home runs, 50 RBIs and has scored 66 times.
