Daytona Beach Left Fielder Nets NC Award Monday, September 5th , 2022 It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Derek Maher, the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles 23-year-old left fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for National Conference Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 20 at-bats, compiling a .600 average with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. On the year, Maher has hit .265 with 24 home runs, 105 RBIs and scored 72 runs. |
