Pines Not Competitive in 6-0 Loss to Hollywood Thursday, August 18th , 2022 The Maine Pines had no answer for Hollywood Stars pitcher Chris Benson. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 6-0. Maine managed only 2 hits off Benson, who had 3 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Benson got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Stars fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
