LF Cardona Receives 2-Game Suspension Tuesday, May 21st , 2024 It got ugly on the field today in the Nightmare and 23ers game, when Jesus Cardona was ejected for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. Before he left the dugout area, Cardona threw a few bats and a garbage can on the field toward home plate. League officials thought the New York left fielder went too far and gave him a 2-game suspension. "Sometimes your emotions get the better of you and you just sort of lose control," Cardona told reporters, "but that doesn't mean I was wrong, just out of control." So far this year in 40 games, Cardona is hitting .239 with 1 home run, 13 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |
