Invaders-Aztecs Swap: Sligar for Hunt Saturday, June 6th , 2026 It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Oakland Invaders and Mexico City Aztecs finalized a trade today. Oakland will send 25-year old C Mike Sligar to the Aztecs, while the Invaders will receive 23-year old 3B John Hunt, 16-year old minor league RHP Yuusou Akiyama, and 16-year old minor league 2B Rey Acevedo. "We think this is a deal that will help out both teams and we're glad to get it done," Invaders general manager Sean Sturgess said. The trade is expected to be officially completed later today with the players joining their new ballclubs by the end of the day. So far this year in 48 games, Sligar is hitting .273 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and 24 runs scored. This season, Hunt is batting .286 with 5 home runs. |
