June's Best Rookie in a Class by Himself Friday, July 1st , 2022 Jim Sykora is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest American Conference Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In June the Austin hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .308 average with 28 hits, 11 home runs and 27 RBIs. To date Sykora has chalked up a .233 average with 22 home runs, driven in 59 runs and scored 56 times. |
