15-K Game for Scorpions Froerer Monday, August 12th , 2019 Led by an outstanding performance from starter John Froerer, the Syracuse Scorpions topped the Tampa Bay Captains today by a score of 3-1 at Scorpion Stadium. The 26-year-old Froerer brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 2 hits and giving up 2 walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Captains manager Humberto Lopez said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." In 25 starts this year Froerer has crafted a 13-8 record and a 3.46 ERA.
