Dustin Downing Out for 5-6 Weeks
Friday, July 2nd , 2021
"I'm frustrated right now," said Maine catcher Dustin Downing. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Pines, that's where he will be spending 5-6 weeks. Downing suffered a strained medial collateral ligament in today's game against Daytona Beach while running the bases. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
This season, Downing is batting .319 with 74 hits, 3 home runs, 34 RBIs, 51 walks, .444 OBP and has scored 23 runs. He has played in 67 games.
