Bad News for Phoenix, Gonzalez Injured Thursday, May 27th , 2021 The Gladiators received bad news this morning. Victor Gonzalez will miss 8-9 weeks due to a fractured thumb. He sustained the injury in the Phoenix-Maine game while being hit by a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Gonzalez sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery." Gonzalez is batting at a .260 pace this season, picking up 44 hits in 169 at-bats with 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
