Thrice Is Nice: Lovell Unloads 3 Homers
Tuesday, January 28th , 2020
(PIT) Torreon third baseman David Lovell saw a fantastic day go to waste at TorreĆ³n Grounds today as the Alligators dropped a 11-10 decision despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Lovell said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 21-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-5 day, and added 4 RBIs and 3 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said (SD) Guadalupe manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
David Lovell hit a two-run home run off Ismael Avalos in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ismael Avalos in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Donato Albuquerque in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and walked in the 10th.
Currently Lovell is batting .205 with 9 home runs and 15 RBIs.
