Jimenez Given 3-Game Suspension Sunday, January 14th , 2018 Shortly after yesterday's Cubs-Acorns game ended, Jesus Jimenez's on-field tantrum seemed almost comical. In response to being ejected for questioning a called third strike, the (SD) Guadalupe catcher tossed his hat to the dirt and kicked it repeatedly. He couldn't help but laugh at himself and his over-the-top, hat-kicking, anger-laced tirade. "It was funny," Jimenez said. "I was hoping I could kick it all the way to the dugout." The umpiring crew, however, didn't find it funny and neither did the league. Though Jimenez said he did not think his actions warranted a suspension, he will miss 3 games. To date, Jimenez has collected 12 hits for a .235 average. He has posted no home runs, scored 7 runs and driven in 5 runs. |
