Oliveros Tags Shamrocks for 5 Hits Monday, December 27th , 2021 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Billy Oliveros -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Shamrocks Stadium, but the performance lost a little luster when the Herons were downed, 5-4, by the (NYN) Vallejo Shamrocks. After his glittering performance, the (TB) Ana Maria Island right fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Oliveros said. Billy Oliveros doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jacob Hodge in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
