Cox Raps 3 HR Against Sky Sox Thursday, January 3rd , 2019 Today was a special one for Justin Cox of the (MC) Tijuana Trappers as he slammed three home runs in the 24-13 win over the (CLE) Irvine Sky Sox. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The (MC) Tijuana left fielder collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 10, and scored 4 runs in the contest at Sky Sox Ballpark. Justin Cox walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jose Guzman in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tony Contreras in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Salvador Fonzarelli in the 9th. Posting a .320 batting average to date, Cox has 9 home runs and 19 RBIs. |
