Goldsmith Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Cubs Sunday, January 5th , 2020 Today was a special one for Chris Goldsmith of the (CHS) Jupiter Hammerheads as he slammed three home runs in the 33-3 win over the (SD) Guadalupe Cubs. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The (CHS) Jupiter first baseman collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 8, and scored 4 runs in the contest at Jackrabbits Ballpark. Chris Goldsmith walked in the 2nd, walked in a run in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Donato Albuquerque in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Ramon Alcala in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Angel Carbajal in the 7th. Presently Goldsmith is batting .429 and has collected 6 home runs, 12 RBIs, .556 OBP and scored 8 runs. |
