Fleet Earn 8-3 Win Against Desperados
It took 17 innings, but the San Diego Fleet were able to beat the Austin Desperados, 8-3, at Dell Diamond. Ed Woodside provided some offensive muscle for San Diego. He was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and 4 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to former first round draft pick Grant Lee in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Chris Frost took the loss. The Fleet now own a record of 41-43.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 17th, until Woodside delivered big-time for San Diego, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Chris Frost. The game-changing hit put the Fleet on top, 5-3.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Woodside. "It sure beats the alternative."
