The Fountain Hills 23ers topped the Tampa Bay Captains, 6-3, in American Conference action at Ahoy Park. The standout performance belonged to Fountain Hills pitcher and Nicholasville, Kentucky, native Bryan Hallberg. The 23ers improved their record to 40-44 by beating Tampa Bay.

Fountain Hills used a well-timed hit by Isaiah Mill to capture the win. The center fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the 23ers ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman.
