Royals Sunk by Eagles
|
Jerry Bowman, who is tied for 5th in the NC in innings pitched with 107.2, was locked in. The right-hander led the Indianapolis Eagles to a 7-5 win against the Cincinnati Royals at Eagles Stadium. Vince Rice, credited with the save, is now 9 for 12 in save opportunities. At 48-35, the Eagles claim third place in the National Conference North East Division.
Indianapolis went up, 3-1, on Mike Dallis's 16th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Dallis hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cincinnati pitcher Cameron Hutchinson muttering to himself.
"Jerry was throwing free and easy," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
