Marauders Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Montreal wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Phil Dalton, falling to the Philadelphia Marauders, 2-1. Dalton threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Philadelphia, at 54-29, holds down first place in the American Conference North East Division.
Hector Nunez was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Marauders first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz.
