San Francisco Loses, 4-2, in 13
|
The San Diego Fleet faced a tough opponent in San Francisco pitcher James Dobyns, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Francisco Grounds by a final score of 4-2 in 13 innings. Dobyns went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The win was credited to Travis Erb in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Gabe Sprung took the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for San Diego.
San Diego used the clutch hitting of Carlos Miranda to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Fleet ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We did a lot of things right," said Miranda.
