Dragons Walk It Off for 40th Win of Season
Dallas shortstop Jay Pearson contributed significantly to his team's 5-3 win over the Phoenix Gladiators. Pearson, who is the 2024 Most Valuable Player Award winner, went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Dragons. Eduardo Vargas, now 4-1, was credited with the win in 3.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win makes Dallas 40-42.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Dallas trailing 3-2, Pearson jumped on a cutter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Manny Brant and hit a 3-run home run to center. With one swing, the Dragons had a walk-off win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Pearson. "It was a great win."
