Giants first baseman Angelo Mejia left his mark on his team's 6-3 win over the New York Nightmare. Mejia, who is tied for 7th in the AC in RBI with 58, went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double for Detroit in the contest. The winning pitcher was Mike Wroten. He tossed 92 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The defeat makes New York 38-44.

It could have been a different outcome for Detroit, had it not been for Chris Lutz, the slugging right fielder . Lutz contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Detroit up, 4-2.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Mejia told the Detroit Gazette.
