The Charleston Shiners could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Dennis Allen into a win. Instead, the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles prevailed, 7-5. Allen threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The Sea Turtles now own a record of 33-49.

Daytona Beach used the clutch hitting of Jordan Thompson to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Sea Turtles ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Thompson said.
