Reapers Sunk by Sea Dogs
|
The timely hitting of Charlie Paquin helped the Charleston Sea Dogs down the Carolina Reapers, 4-2. Paquin went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Sea Dogs. Andy Weatherholt, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-2. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Shane Kidd, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 17th save.
Paquin had a crucial hit for Charleston with one out in the bottom of the fourth. With Charleston trailing 2-1, Paquin hit a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Sea Dogs ahead, 4-2.
Carolina manager Julio Rodriguez, after yet another defeat, said: "We need to recalibrate."
Charleston, now 62-19, has stretched its winning streak to 15 games.
