Pierce Slugs Marauders to 12-6 Win
The Philadelphia Marauders topped the Fountain Hills 23ers, 12-6, in American Conference action at Marauders Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia left fielder Danny Pierce. The win was credited to 2012 Cy Young Award winner Corbett Wright in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Mauricio Martinez took the loss. Dan Woods, credited with the save, is now 2 for 4 in save opportunities.

With Philadelphia trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the fourth, Pierce hit a cutter from Mauricio Martinez for a grand slam home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Marauders ahead, 8-5.

"We take it day by day here," said Pierce, "and today was a good one for us."

The victory gives Philadelphia a record of 49-32.
