The Maine Pines picked up a win at Hannaford Dome, knocking off the Boston Whistlers, 8-6. Starting pitcher Josh Flaten was a big reason why. Vinny Narvaez earned his 3rd save in 3 chances. The winning continues for Maine, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.

Jose Valverde hit a bases-clearing triple off Jeremy Carter in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Pines in front, 8-5. Valverde had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
