Fleet Need Extra Frames to Get Past Invaders
|
The San Diego Fleet trumped the Oakland Invaders, 5-2, in 10 innings. San Diego first baseman Carlos Miranda was impactful. He went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The Fleet saw their win-loss record go to 47-33. At the same time, the Invaders fell to 40-40.
Miranda delivered in the clutch for San Diego. In the bottom of the tenth, he took a full count fastball from Oakland pitcher Tom Paolucci and parked it over the fence. The 3-run home run won it for San Diego.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Miranda.
