The Charleston Shiners put together a convincing win at Ballpark of Charleston, defeating the Indianapolis Eagles, 11-3. Danny Lebron was one of the hitting stars. He went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Charleston. David Edgemon, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. In the bottom of the first, 24-year old center fielder Mark Root hit a 3-run home run. The 2nd home run of the season for the Charleston center fielder put the Shiners on top, 3-0.
